Here’s more albums we can’t wait to listen to this year!
Copeland – Blushing (February 14, 2019)
As if their current discography wasn’t already impressive enough, the band plans to release another album this Valentine’s Day, pushing the boundaries of their genre even further. With the singles we’ve heard so far, we’re really stoked about the follow-up to 2014’s Ixora. The band evolves with every record, and Blushing sees a continuation of their fusion of indie rock with a new fascination for electronic. Copeland releases only what sounds good to them, and that says a lot about what makes the band so amazing.
Girlpool – What Chaos Is Imaginary (February 1, 2019)
Back in 2017, we featured Powerplant, the band’s addictive sophomore release. This year, Cleo Tucker and Harmony Tividad return with a new studio effort, this time crafted first by themselves before coming together. With this approach, each one was able to find themselves musically and gain more self-confidence, until the time came to merge their efforts. The output speaks for itself, now more unabashed and experimental in nature.
The Maine – You Are Ok (March 29, 2019)
Continuing from 2017’s superb Lovely Little Lonely, the Maine is officially back with You Are Ok. The lead single “Numb Without You” sounds like a return to the band’s Pioneer-era sound, but with newfound progression, this time introducing an unexpected element of strings. Judging from the song alone, we’re confident the band has another killer album on its hands, again gracing us with never-ending courage and authenticity.
Funeral Advantage – Nectarine (February 22, 2019)
For those into dream pop mixed with lots of emo, prepare to fall in miserable love with Funeral Advantage. Coming from 2017’s Please Help Me, Tyler Kershaw is set to return with even more hazy instrumentation and relatable, on-point lyrics. The debut single “Black House” is an extremely promising preview of how the rest of the album will sound like.
Avril Lavigne – Head Above Water (February 15, 2019)
After some time off, Lavigne is ready to put her art out into the world again. Having gone through personal struggles, such as a battle with Lyme disease, the musician takes on a brave direction with the anticipated follow-up to her 2013 release. Now more introspective and vulnerable than ever, this is the musician opening up to the world—let’s be sure to listen.
