RPM (Revolutions Per Minute) is a new Satchmi series that takes a look at local revolutionary brands or lifestyle products that bring something new to the table and make the world a better place by being themselves- a unique brand with quality products that are equal to can sometimes event surpass international standards.
Tattooie PH, one of our concessionaire’s during Vinyl Day 2018 held last June 16 at Green Sun, Makati – is a local brand by Designer’s Crib who’s main products are temporary tattoos. Their idea of bringing in cute designs as temp tatts is a fun way to play around our creativity and self expression while skipping the commitment of having to be inked for life. We asked Kat and Vic Garfin, the duo behind the brand on their beginnings, their personal favorites and what the future holds for the brand.
1. What’s the reason behind the brand name?
Tattoooie simplely because we wanted a catchy name that sounds fun and young. Originally it was based on the words “ratatouille” of pixar and “tattooine” of starwars which both are our favorite films.
2. What makes your products special/different?
First would be the design because all of it are original artworks that we made. Second is the design selection because we make more than 100 designs per year and every year it changes. The designs that we have are very diverse in order to meet the personality of each customers. Third is that it is locally made here in the Philippines.
3. What’s your favorite product that you sell and why?
My favorite tattoooie designs are the pop culture inspired temporary tattoos because it it easily connects with the customers
4. What are your brand’s plans for the future?
We are already expanding physical store in the metro and in the future we’d want to make it available in the provinces and hopefully the international market. To showcase Filipino made designs and product to the world will always be part of our goal.
